Jason and Gracie's Awesome River Adventure!!!

Jason and Gracie got to have a Daddy-Daughter over night trip to the river this weekend. Gracie LOVED having some alone time with her daddy and Jason was glad to have some one-on-one time with his big girl. This was Gracie's first trip to the river, and, of course, she loved it and wants to go back!

Once they got on the dirt roads, she got to sit next to daddy and pretend she was driving, too.

She's had that pole for a long time, and now she finally got to use it!

She got a bite, and it was a pretty good size fish for her and her little pole. Daddy had to reel it in for her. You can tell from her expression that it scared her. Her daddy and I hope she still wants to fish some day.

The river is spring-fed so it's really cold ... and clean.

She loved the stairway down to the river from Grandpa John's cabin.

Look Alikes?

Take a look at these. All of them at about 3 months old.

They are definitely siblings. Of course, Caden's barley there, blonde hair doesn't help him look like the girls, but there is a resemblance, I think. Maybe its just the chubby cheeks! Brenna has the most olive skin. Gracie was more pink then. Caden's eyes were blue at that point, but you can't tell in this picture. It's amazing how the same parents can have similar, and yet very different looking kids.

Oh Brother!!

Caden has really been feeling his "terrible two's" lately. Among other things, he has been getting into things that he knows he shouldn't....like my mascara.

Does this look familiar? He's getting ideas from his big sis. OH BOY!

And, of course, I had to add some pictures of my girls, too.

Please excuse the dirty bib, it is a hand-me-down from Gracie, so it has seen a few messes!

Photo Shoot

Jason is the BEST husband and father, but photographer he is not. Let me clarify - when he takes pictures, he does a good job, but he doesn't take them very often. But, that's probably because I usually have the camera because I LOVE taking pictures. So, anyway, I decided to try and get a good picture of me and the kids myself. See what ya think!

Little Joe

Brain and Laura came to a big roping in town. They stayed Friday night with us and we enjoyed getting to hang out with them. Then we got to see Brian rope on Saturday and a little on Sunday, too. I think the kids really enjoyed watching him "catch the cow". Gracie told me that when she gets big she wants to "ride the horse and catch a cow, too, like Uncle Brian".

We also got to ride Brian's horse, Little Joe. Don't let the name fool you... he's anything but little! He's older, I think Laura said 17 years old. She called him a grandpa horse so Gracie could understand. :) So he's more mellow, and more kid friendly. But he sure is tall! A gentle giant. It was so much fun to lope him around - I could do that all day. The kids didn't want to get off of him either. I bet they will be asking to go to Aunt Laura and Uncle Brian's house to ride agian in the near future!
