Jason and I headed down to the Devil's River the morning after Labor Day, just the 2 of us! We had the cabin all to ourselves until Friday evening.

Sunset the first night.

Jason brought his bow to go fishing with. He had to try it out first thing.

Going swiming at the big cabin. There is a big pool below a small "water fall" that is great to swim in. Not too much current and it's pretty deep.

Looking for some carp down river, but we only found gar.
He never did shoot a fish, but he had a great time trying!

We got rained on pretty hard off and on for a couple of days.

The rocks had little streams coming down, too.

We ate hamburgers, pork chops, chicken, steak, fish and shrimp off the grill. SOOO good.

Heading to the big pool.

Can you see the hummingbird? Right of the feeder about to land. We had up to 20 of them all trying to eat at the same time. It was funny to watch them. I got one to sit on my finger and eat the last day.

We hiked to the lower left "white" area where there are some Indian paintings.

The Indian paintings: turkey and coyote. There are many more paintings, but these are the most easy to recognize.

Up river view from the paintings.

Lon and Christy.

Us :)

Jason threw some rocks in the river.

View from the cabin deck.

The only fish ANYONE caught that was worth keeping. We ate it that night and it was good!

Sunset the last night.

Everyone was looking for deer or goats to watch.

Christy made apple turn overs.... mmmmm.

We love the river. See ya next year!
