Fossil Rim Wildlife Center

We went to Glen Rose to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center for Wendy's UN-birthday. She is having a milestone b-day on Halloween and we wanted to celebrate with a surprise get together! Wendy did an internship with Fossil Rim and was glad to go back and see it agian. The wildlife center is a non-profit property that allows you to drive around looking at all the exotic animals at your own pace. We loved it and will definitely go back when the kids are a little older! But be prepared to pay! It's kinda expensive, especially for a non-profit! I reccomend going in the fall and with a truck like we did! It was so much fun to get up close to the animals and feed them, too! Here are a few pictures from our trip!

Caden started out in the back of the truck and loved to walk from person to person! I think his favorite part was throwing food to the animals (dad bought some food they sell there). He later decided to sit in the front with daddy for a while before he came back to the truck bed.

The UN-birthday girl and Gracie!

A wildebeast. He was waiting for some food.

A black buck.

An Addax. They are critically endangered.

There is a white tail deer on the left and waterbuck in the middle and background.

Mom and Wendy.

The giraffes were the best part!! They are sooo sweet and gentle. We loved feeding them!

Can you tell I liked to feed the giraffe?

Papa and Caden. It was really cute: later, when Caden got sleepy, he went over to Papa and said night-night and dad cradled him up in his lap. Caden just layed there until we got out of the park, pretty much. Gracie was laying her head on Wendy's leg by that time, too.
It worked out perfect: the kids slept all the way home. (well, Caden at least)

Gracie feeding the giraffe!

He slobered on me! Not too bad though :)

Mom blowing the zebra a kiss goodbye! The zebras wanted us to feed them by hand but we were told they would bite, so we didn't.

Everybody!
