Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving Holiday. We went to see Jason's brother, Brian, and his wife and son, Laura and Lane. Reid, Brian's oldest, was at his mom's, and we really missed him. We ate alot of good food and enjoyed the beautiful day with family!

Playing on the bed at GG's!

Lane - such a cutie!

Their horses : Scout, Jr. and Scooby.

They liked how Gracie smelled.

Lane, sleeping.

I don't know how he did it.

Brian was getting better from having the flu.

Caden's 1st tooth and our little plumber!

YAY! Caden has a tooth. Well, he really has had it for a couple of weeks now, but I'm just getting a picture up. Please ignore the eye goop - I took this while he was still sick with that nasty cold that wouldn't go away. He's such a good kid. He really did try to be happy while he was sick!

Gracie has become quite the "Daddy's Little Helper". Jason and his dad replaced the water shut-off valves for the sink and toilet this weekend, but left a few things un-done because we had to go get a part. So Gracie decided that she would help Daddy get the job done today. She got down there with Jason and a measureing tape. It was so cute to hear Gracie try and repeat "yep, inch and five sixteenths polywasher".

Grease Monkey!

I know that some day, it will not be as cool to help out around the house, or in this case, the garage. But, for now, Gracie is a helper. Even if it means getting dirty with dad changing the oil in the car.

She copied dad and put a cardboard box to lay down on.

Then she got right in there with her daddy.
He was so proud.

Don't Eat The Leaves!

We went outside to play a few days ago because it was so nice. I layed out a blanket for Caden to play on because the grass was pretty cold in the shade of our house. It worked for a little while. Caden loves to watch both Gracie and Maggie.

Sweet Maggie.
Then he discovered the leaves (and the grass). He thought they looked like something good to eat and was determined to try them out. I finally gave up trying to keep the leaves out of his mouth and took these pictures instead. Judging by his expessions, you'd think he wouldn't want to eat leaves anymore.

I though I had gotten all the leaves/grass out of his mouth until he started making a funny face and gagging a little. I stuck my finger in his mouth to find a blade of grass stuck to the roof of his mouth. We finally had to go back inside because of his persistance in eating the leaves.

Mom's Birthday Bash!

These are pictures from my Mom's birthday party. I won't tell you how old she is, lets just say it was a "big" one! We had so much fun with alot of family and friends. My mom is the best. She is one of my best friends and I don't know what I would do without her! Now that I'm a mom, I appreciate all that she did for me and my brother and sisters growing up! I don't know how she did it! She's amazing! I thank God that she is such an important part of our lives. Love you Mom!
As you can see from the pictures, everything is yellow. My Mom LOVES yellow so that was our theme for the party. We asked guests to bring a little something yellow for the birthday girl.

Here's Gracie helping Pawpaw cook the hamburgers.

Two of the greatest women I know: my Mom and my Grandma.

The cake - yummy!

Make a wish! (I bet it was for more grandkids!)

Present time! Lots of yellow!

We had a good group!

Mom's friends, Jennifer and Donna, got her a card that said "We're still hotties!"

My Aunt Dianne (in background) and Uncle Bill made the shirt Mom is wearing.

One of Dad's gifts: a beautiful braclet from Santa Fe. Mom LOVES jewelry, too!

Halloween!

Gracie and Caden went trick-or-treating for the first time in Haskell last weekend! We've taken Gracie to our Fall Festival but not trick-or-treating door-to-door. Being the most forgetful person in the world, I forgot Gracie's Lucy costume. I know, I know, I'm a terrible mother. Somehow, I did get Caden's Charlie Brown outfit, so I'm 1-2. Anyway, I had to think of something for Gracie to be so she could go trick-or-treating. I went to THE dollar store in Haskell and they had NO costumes. I didn't want to spend alot of money, so I decided to get creative. I did pack her PJ's and the dollar store had some ribbon, a crown, and a princess wand all for a dollar, so she became (drum roll please): Sleeping Beauty. Get it, PJ's and a crown with a sash? It was the best I could do for $3 in Haskell.

Caden was a little sleepy, but he did pretty well.

Our first house. Somehow, we got her to say "trick-or-treat"!

She liked getting the candy!
Dad was our driver, so we went up to the hospital so he could show off his grandkids! The nurses always have candy on Halloween.

It was fun! I know that she will be looking forward to it next year! And maybe the year after that, Caden will be excited about it, too!
