Jason's Ankle

On January 9th, Jason sprained his ankle playing basketball at church. He was able to walk out to his truck and drive home, but when he got here, he called me to come help him get inside. We went to the doctor the next day to make sure nothing was broken. He was told to wear a walking boot for 6 weeks, but that really only lasted a couple of days. He's been limping around and walking gingerly on it ever since. They say that high ankle spains like his take forever to "heal" and then they are never quite the same. I think Jason can agree with that. Poor guy.

OUCH! This picture was taken the night it happened after a couple of hours of ice and elavation.
We were both amazed how quickly it swelled.

The next day, major swelling.

Two days after the swelling is going into his lower leg.

5 days after and there is some bruising around his toes. Jason NEVER bruises.

About 2 weeks after, much less swelling.

About 3 weeks after - much better, but definitely still swollen.

About 4 weeks. It looks the same to me, but he is walking better.

A little over 6 weeks. I guess this will be as good as it gets for a while.
The take home lesson here, boys and girls, is: DON'T SPRAIN YOUR ANKLE! :)
