I am SO not ready for this.

Until now, I could feel ok about leaving to go to the bathroom or just run inside for something while Gracie and Caden played outside. Caden never even tried to climb the swing set. But now, I'm going to have to rethink that.

Look at me mom! I did it all by myself! No small task for a 14 month old.

WEEEEEE!

And the winner is...

It has been an eventful day here at the Gibson household. I think the kids were in competition to see who could have the funniest picture taken today. I'll let you decide.

Gracie went with the cosmetic approach - like a true girl. This time it was my lipstick. I don't even know why I still had that stupid lipstick in my purse. (I was planning on using it during pageant, but always forgot) She and I were sitting here at the computer while I checked my email, and I asked her to go throw something away. After a little while, I noticed that she never returned, and more importantly, it was really quiet. This is what I found.

I really don't know what I'm going to do with her. I can't put everything on a shelf out of her reach. This lipstick was in my zipped purse on the bar. I don't know.

Caden went with the boyish approach. I left Caden in Gracie's watchful eye (she's a good tattle-tale when she wants to be) so that I could go to the bathroom. They were playing in the backyard - Gracie on her tricycle, Caden with the broom. When I returned, I heard Gracie laughing from behind the swingset; close to where we just planted some bushes. And ... this is what I found.

No, he didn't sprout a mohawk of brown hair. That's dirt - smashed into the little blonde hair that he does have.

Ok, you decide the funniest picture. I know Caden has a few more than Gracie to pick from, but oh well. Vote up at the top right.

Tricycle

I love this weather - when we can go outside and play! My parents got this tricycle for Gracie on her 1st birthday and she LOVES it. Unfortunately, she has only been able to ride it well for the past month or so. And, as you can see by the video, she still needs some work on the steering. Hope you enjoy!

Why can't we have nice things?!

I think I'm going to put bells on Gracie's PJ's. Maybe then I'll hear her before she gets herself into trouble . . . .again. (Jason still refuses to put a lock on her door, and I know that I shouldn't want one for safety reasons, but after mornings like this, the thought is tempting)

I was sleeping late because the kids were sleeping late, or so I thought. Caden usually wakes me up at 6:30 or 7, so when I looked at the clock and saw that it was 7:30 and I still didn't hear Caden, I was so ready to go back to my little dream world for as long as I could get away with it. Then I did hear something. A chair scooting on the kitchen floor? That would mean Gracie was up, and I was not there to supervise.

I walk into our living room/kitchen to see her standing in a chair at the sink with something in her hand. As soon as I called her name, she sunk down into her guilty ball. As I walked over to her I could smell the very strong sent of finger nail polish remover. I took the bottle of hot pink fingernail polish away from her ( I had 2 bottles at one time, she used the other one to paint the walls, carpet, doors and various other objects a couple of months ago) and saw the now empty bottle of polish remover on the counter next to the sink. This was not good. It was about 2/3 full before that morning.

The only answer to my frantic questions about the location(s) of the finger nail polish remover was: "All gone, Momma". I didn't have to look far to find where it all went.

This time she damaged our antique table that Jason's aunt Elizabeth spent alot of money restoring for us. It was Jason's great grandma's or something like that. I guess we'll have to have it redone again.

Yep, it took everything off right down to the wood in some places.

This is the chair she was sitting in when she got finger nail polish remover all over herself, too. You can see the little round shape of her bottom where she was sitting.

Here is the little culprit. My sweet baby girl.

Gracie's crazy sleeping style!

Of course, there is the normal way to sleep. On the mattress, with stuffed animal, pillow and blanket.

Then there is the 1/2 on 1/2 off method. Doesn't look too comfy.

And don't forget about the off the bed altogether method. Not the most comfortable either, I'm sure.

But this is a first.

It's not unusual to find Gracie in her tent asleep, but under her mattress - that's a new one.

Here lately, she has had alot of fun laying over her laundry basket, propping her mattress on top and rolling down the mattress. I guess she was doing something of that sort when she pooped out tonight! Too funny!

Odds and Ends

These pictures really don't have a theme or event. Just some pics from our everyday. I thought they were cute or funny, or both.

This picture is funny because that hat is a size 2T-3T and BARLEY fits.

Gracie's funny face.

She has a muscle T on!

Yes, Caden LOVED feeding himself those black beans.

Silly Gracie.

Still smiling even after loosing his little run in with the bricks from our fire place. I'm just glad I wasn't home when he had his accident! There is something about seeing my baby bleed that makes me go overboard.

Yep, he's in the diaper-head gang. Gracie and Jason started this gang a while back.

This was taken in Oct. '07

She's grown so much! And, Jason, hasn't grown a bit!!

Easter Sunday

I love Easter. I really do need to be reminded every year of the sacrafice Jesus paid for our sins so that we could spend forever with Him in Heaven. Growing up in a Christian home, were you went to church ever time the doors were open, I think you can get so used to the resurrection story that it's not a bid deal. But it is the most important event in human history, and I need to remember that! I can't think of a better reminder than our church's Easter pageant. It's so much work and time, but it is so worth it! I hope that you got a chance to see it this year, and if you didn't I hope that you can next time.

My parents, grandparents, Jeremy, Chirsty and Lon came over for Easter lunch. We made lunch a group effort and it was SOO good! After lunch we had dessert of course, and then the kids got to hunt some Easter eggs! It was alot of fun! Gracie found alot of eggs and Caden really got the hang of it and found almost as many! We really enjoyed our time with family, which is the best part of every holiday. I hope the family that we weren't with today had a wonderful Easter, too!
Here are some pictures from our day!

Here they are in their Easter Sunday best! This is right before we left for church.

Great Grandpa loves to take pictures, especially of his great-grandkids! He's where I get my love of photography!

I tried to get them to sit in these little chairs with their baskets and smile.

As you can see, it never happened. Oh, well.

Gracie loved that chocolate!

I LOVE this smile!

Here we all are! Hope you had a Happy Easter, too!!
